It's a memorable setting for a bit of blissful solitude, a romantic escape, or a small-family vacation spent tidepooling and whale watching. The area is a joy to explore, with Cape Perpetua (three miles), Thor's Well (three miles), Yachats' shops and galleries (six miles), Heceta Head Lighthouse (seven miles), and the Sea Lion Caves (eight miles) close by. The view is the star of the show here, with a rear wall of glass framing the ocean out back. Whether you're cooking with stainless steel kitchen appliances or working on a puzzle at the table, you can keep one eye open for whale spouts on the horizon.
